Resort Category Matcher
Find whether your style points to budget, mid, or luxury — without browsing 200 resort websites.
Unique: includes "vibe" (party vs quiet vs family) — most budgets ignore this.
What this solves
Budget alone doesn't tell you where to book. A $400/night budget with quiet priorities and a reef priority lands you in a different resort than the same $400 with a party vibe and a wine list focus. This matcher combines price, vibe, and priorities.
How to read results
- Budget (≤ $250): Local-island guesthouses and a few budget resorts in Kaafu / Ari.
- Mid ($250–$700): Most of the Maldives, including very good 4★ options.
- Luxury ($700–$1,500): 5★ resorts, premium transfers, butler service begins here.
- Ultra-luxury ($1,500+): Cheval Blanc, Soneva, etc. — small islands, large villas, often full board.
Limitations
We use nightly averages — peak December and Easter weeks can be 50–100% more expensive than the calculator assumes.
FAQ
Can budget Maldives still be good?
Yes — local-island guesthouses in Maafushi, Dhigurah, and Ukulhas have great reef access and cost $80–$180/night including transfers from Malé.
Where does the money actually go in luxury?
Mostly villa size, private pool, butler ratio (often 4 staff per villa at ultra-luxury), and imported food/wine. Reef access is no better than mid-range.
